With September rolling around, kids go back to school, university starts and summer vacation ends. So now that there are so many activities going on, how do you keep your motivation during these busy times? Below, I will list some strategies to help manage your motivation when things get busy.
1) Re-Evaluate Level of Commitment: Maybe now that things are busy, you need to take down the number of training days or hours you can spend exercising. That doesn’t mean you have to be hard on yourself. That just means you have to be realistic with your expectations.
2) As Early and As Much as Possible: If you are extremely busy, get your training in early. Not only that, but when you do have those free moments, try to get those training sessions in as well. Sometimes you just need to get your foot in that door. But when you get into this habit when you’re busy, it will be so much easier when times slow down.
3) Shift Your Goals: If things get super busy, you can shift around what you strive for to accommodate that. Instead of achieving a 200 pound back squat, maybe it can be to eat healthy 6 out of the 7 days in a week. This little shift can change your perspective and help you keep the motivation and desire to train high.
